Then the Cleveland Orchestra will play favorites by Bernstein, Gershwin and others. Tito Munoz will conduct, and violinist Caroline Goulding will be featured. Akron: The four-day Rib, White & Blue Food Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today at Lock 3, 200 S. Main St. Unlike past years, admission will be free at any time during the festival.
Bay Village: Bay Days will be held from noon to 10:30 p.m. today through Saturday and again on Monday at Cahoon Park, Lake and Cahoon roads, with rides, booths, music and more.
Westlake: Alumni and current members of Westlake High School's concert and jazz bands will stage a
Patriotic Band Spectacular at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 27830 Hilliard Blvd. Admission of $5 includes light refreshments.
Friday, July 2

Berea: The Grindstone Festival will be held from 3 to 11 p.m. Most events will be held behind City Hall, 11 Berea Commons, off S. Rocky River Drive. Highlights include a Miss Berea Pageant at 6:30 p.m. inside City Hall.
Cuyahoga Falls: Starting at 8:30 p.m., the Cleveland Orchestra and Blossom Festival Chorus will perform an American Spectacular, with favorites by Bernstein, Grofe and others, ending with the "1812" Overture and fireworks at Blossom Music Center, 1145 W. Steels Corners Road.
Strongsville: Blossom Festival Band conductor Loras John Schissel will start a busy weekend by leading the Strongsville Community Band at 8 p.m. at the gazebo, Pearl Road and Ohio 82. The concert is free, and so is an accompaniment of ice cream.
Saturday, July 3

Bedford: A celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with games for all ages and end with fireworks, all at St. Peter Chanel High School, 480 Northfield Road.
Berea: The Grindstone Festival will be held from 2 to 11 p.m. Most events will be held behind City Hall, 11 Berea Commons, off S. Rocky River Drive. A parade starts at 7 p.m. at Gate 3 of the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, 164 Eastland Road.
Brunswick: A Patriot Party will be held from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the community center. The Brunswick Community Band and Choir will perform there at 7 p.m. Fireworks will take place at dusk outside the high school.
Cuyahoga Falls: The Blossom Festival Band will play a "Salute to the USA" starting at 8 p.m. and ending with the "1812" Overture and fireworks. The concert is at Blossom Music Center, 1145 W. Steels Corners Road.
Medina: A fireworks festival will begin at 4 p.m. at the Recreation Center, 855 Weymouth Road, and conclude with fireworks at dusk.
Parma: A parade will start at 10 a.m. on Ridge Road and Dorothy Avenue and end at Ridge and Ridgewood Avenue. Spectators are asked to bring nonperishable food to donate to the Parma Hunger Center.
July 4
Cleveland: Fireworks will rise from the Cuyahoga River's mouth on Lake Erie at 10 p.m. The show, sponsored by FirstEnergy Corp. and the Flats Oxbow Association, can be seen from far around for free. Or you can watch from on board the William G. Mather at the Great Lakes Science Center, 601 Erieside Ave., as part of a Rock and Boom evening, which starts at 6 p.m. and costs $12 for nonmembers. If weather postpones the fireworks, they'll be held Monday.
Akron: For the first time in years, there will be no fireworks over the Innerbelt. But a smaller fireworks show will conclude an Akron Symphony pops concert at Lock 3, 200 S. Main St. The concert will wrap up Akron's Rib, White & Blue Food Festival, which opens at noon. Admission is free.
Avon Lake: Arts Fest 2010 will start at 2 p.m. at Miller Road Park, 33760 Lake Road. The event concludes with the True North Chorale and Symphony Outdoor Patriotic Concert and with fireworks.
Berea: The Grindstone Festival will be held from 2 to 11 p.m. and feature fireworks. Most events will be held behind City Hall on S. Rocky River Drive. From 1 to 4 p.m., the Berea Historical Society will hold a separate ice cream social for $1 per bowl and offer free tours of its home, 118 E. Bridge St.
Cuyahoga Falls: The Blossom Festival Band will play patriotic music at 8 p.m., ending with the "1812" Overture and fireworks. The concert is at Blossom Music Center, 1145 West Steels Corners Road.
Eastlake: The gates will open at 7 p.m. at Classic Park Stadium, Vine Street and Ohio 91, for entertainment, community booths and, finally, fireworks.
Lakewood: The city's annual parade starts at noon on Lake Avenue at Kenneth Drive and ends at Lakewood Park, where festivities will be held. Lakewood High School's Youth Rock Orchestra will perform at 7 p.m. at the Bandstand. Fireworks will be about 9:45 p.m. at the park.
Medina: Among other events, a parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Spring Grove and Liberty streets and end at Jefferson and Washington streets. The Medina Community Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. on Public Square.
Westlake: A parade begins at 1 p.m. at Westlake High School, 27830 Hilliard Blvd., and ends at Clague Park, Clague Road and Hilliard Boulevard. There will also be a charity classic car show and other entertainment for much of the day at Crocker Park, Crocker Road south of Detroit Road. Clague Park will host fireworks at dusk.
Monday, July 5
Cleveland: The Red, White & Zoo day runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, 3900 Wildlife Way. There will be animal activities with a holiday theme. The usual free Monday admission for residents of Cuyahoga County or Hinckley Township will be postponed until Tuesday, July 6. But you can get $2 off a normal day's admission on the 5th by wearing red, white and/or blue.
Bay Village: Bay Days will wrap up from noon to 10:30 p.m. at Cahoon Park, Cahoon and Lake roads, featuring fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
Chester Township: A parade will begin at 11 a.m. from St. Anselm Catholic Church, 12969 Ohio 306, and head south on 306 to West Geauga High School.
Stow: A parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Stow-Kent Shopping Center on Kent Road.
