Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy music all day. Along with great music, “BrookStock” features vendors and exhibitors, arts and crafts, a kites flying high in the air, games and activities, hikes, live animals, and more!
EarthWords Nature Shop will be on site selling merchandise and offering a tie-dye station, too.  Visitors can buy shirts from EarthWords for $5, or bring their own t-shirts and print for a $1 to create their own tie-dye shirt.  Shop staff and volunteers will help with the dyes to help create a “groovy” shirt.
Enjoy an afternoon with activities and great live music at BrookStock – A Celebration of Music & Nature in Cleveland Metroparks – part of your life, naturally!

164. The Hessler Street Fair

The Hessler Street Fair is an annual community arts and music festival, celebrating its 42st year on historic Hessler Street in Cleveland's University Circle. It is a family-friendly event, showcasing local artists, food, musicians and poets. The Fair is one of Cleveland's most successful, attracting upwards of 10,000 visitors each year.

Running from 11am to dusk, May 21 & 22 Saturday and Sunday, it features a diverse mixture of musical styles and venues, and is a non-profit, volunteer-run weekend, focused on celebrating community, arts and culture.

Hessler Road is located in the University Circle neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. It is a small one-way brick paved street running east from Ford Drive to Hessler Court. Hessler Court, the only remaining wood block street in Cleveland, runs north from Hessler Road to Bellflower Road.

159. Jazz for Kids

Now in its fifth year, the “Jazz for Kids” concert is an entertaining and educational performance for families with young children led by pianist Joe Hunter.  Cleveland native Hunter is the co-host with Bill Rudman of the very popular “The Song is You” series and a frequent contributor to Ernie Krivda’s Fat Tuesday Big Band. 

Tickets $5 for members of the Children’s Museum; $10 for nonmembers (children under 11 months admitted free).  Tickets can be purchased exclusively at the Children’s Museum or by calling 216-791-KIDS.

133. Polka Hall of Fame Awards Show


I love polka, I'm an Italian gal who married a nice Polish boy, it's fun music and let the kids dance all their energy away! The National Cleveland Style Polka Hall of Fame Awards Show begins Saturday November 27 @ 2 p.m. in Euclid High School Auditorium.  After the show, the faithful are invited back downtown for the annual Polka Mass, celebrated by Bishop Edward Pevec at 6 p.m. in the hotel ballroom.

86. Painesville Party in the Park

July 16, 17, 18.  The Party in the Park is not just for the music lover.  During the 3 day event there is a wide array of things to do for adults and children of all ages.  The Community Stage features many different activities, demonstrations, music and many other things for the whole family to enjoy.  Also, in the Community Stage area  is the PPITP "Kidzone" with large inflatables for the kids to enjoy.  The schedule below outlines all the different events taking place in the community areas during the Party in the Park.  In addition there will be a car show, kids community mural, clowns, crafts and more.

AND next door will the PETAPALOOZA sponsored by THE ANIMAL CLINIC OF CHARDON.  July 17 & 18 from Noon to 9.  Free for doggies and kiddos!

85. National Hamburger Festival

I don't even care that this is not technically Cleveland, it's a festival all about food, count me in!
Now celebrating it's 5th year come on down to Akron's own Hamburger Festival!

  • Festival hours are Saturday, July 17 from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday, July 18 from noon to 7 p.m.
  • Tickets will be sold at the gate for $5.00 per person. Admission is free for children under 48-inches tall.
  • Food and beverages will be sold separately.

83. Kids FREE at Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom

Weekends now through September 5, 2010, the Cleveland Orchestra will be playing at Blossom Music Center!

Children ages 12 and under sit free on the Lawn for all Blossom Festival concerts with a free Kids’ Lawn Pass. Up to two children are admitted free with each paid adult Lawn ticket admission. Children must be accompanied by an adult on the Lawn at all times.

82. Hale Farm Fun!

This weekend July 10-11, 2010 there are three awesome events going on at Hale Farm!

1 - Music in the Valley with folk musicians.  July 10-11 from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $10 for adults/seniorsand $5 for children age 3-12. Members of the Western Reserve Historical Society and children 2 & under are free.
2 - Hale Hearty Dinner Fiddles and Vittles.  July 10 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Fiddles & Vittles is part of a new food program that blends history, theater, and authentic 19th century fare with local foods for a unique, entertaining dining experience.  $15 per person.
3 - Hale Ghost Tour.   July 10 Presentation at 8:00 pm Walking Tour begins at 9:00 pm.   This is a hauntingly historical Hale Farm & Village walking tour and presentation led by Western Reserve Paranormal with tips on how to be a ghost hunter and to see real collected evidence. The tour visits Ira Road Cemetery and Hale Farm & Village with an option to continue on a late night walk to Indigo Lake. Admission is $10. Not recommended for children. (I'd say older kids would love this, not so much the younger ones, they're not up at 9pm anyway!

64. Coventry Street Arts Fair

53. Rib Cook Offs

Don't wear white shirts and bring lots of wipies!!  Both the Berea Rib Cook off and the Rib Burn off downtown, are this weekend!  If you have littler bugger's the Berea one is a little easier to navigate if you need to leave during a meltdown/overload of elephant ears.  BOTH offer free admission for kiddos under 12!

Berea Offerings:  FREE parking, lots of activities for children, including a rock climbing wall, inflatables, a mechanical bull, and more!

Downtown Offerings:  Music, music, music and ribs!

28. Legacy Village

I'm sure a shopping mall isn't the first place you think of for "family fun" BUT during the summer months Legacy Village is awesome for some free fun.  Their summer concert series takes place in the center  of the mall on the grass.  Bring a lawn chair and some glow sticks for the kids and let them run themselves into exhaustion while you relax with some gelato from La Gelateria or chocolate and cookies from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
