42. The Children's Museum of Cleveland

A great activity for rainy days!  Take your under two crowd to the Big Red Barn area, take the older crowd to the Bridges to our Community exhibit and everyone can spend hours (literally hours) at their huge water table!

As always when in the the University Circle area, Little Italy makes a super yummy lunch!! :)

“Healthier Ever After” is an active fairytale forest. Children must maneuver through the make-believe forest overcoming obstacles as they exercise their bodies and learn healthy nutrition facts in a fun, playful manner. In doing so, they will learn to live “healthier ever after.”

41. Avon Lake Public Library and DiscoveryWorks

Well this week looks to be kind of rainy and chilly so why not head down to the COOLEST library I've found, the Avon Lake Public Library.  Their children's section is amazing, with a huge tree for an entrance and a puppet theater that makes me jealous.  But the best part is the DiscoveryWorks portion.  Great for toddlers thru teens the play area is divided to let the older kids have their fun without the "babies" getting in their way.  Geared towards hands on learning this room has music, puzzles, a Thomas-the-Train table, blocks, legos, a play house, a human kaleidoscope and hamsters and turtles and a playhouse to read in.  The older (5+) side has experiments in sound, air, movement, and dinosaurs!

40. Day Out with Thomas

39. Discover Dinosaurs! Fairview Park Library

Pretend to be a paleontologist!!  Learn about dinosaurs through a variety of hands on activities.  This activity is for 3-6 year olds.  There will be 8 stations and it takes 45min-an hour, to complete travelling at your own pace.  Hands-on science experiments range from digging out m&m's from cookies (yum!), assembling dinosaur bones, and using shovels/brushes to dig up dino bones and pack them up for shipment to a museum!  How cute!!

36. Carlisle Reservation

 FREE fun on the West side!  Spend the afternoon at the Carlisle Reservation.  Enjoy the children's playroom (picture above), and the wildlife observation room - both housed in the visitor's center.  The next building is the Raptor Center and the Maple Sugar Shack.  

There’s still one more place to see at Carlisle--the Duck Pond Picnic Area. Centered around two large connected ponds, this area attracts a variety of aquatic wildlife and is a favorite of fishermen (Ohio fishing license required.) The area also includes a reserve-able picnic shelter and small playground  and a trail-head that leads to the other parts of the reservation.

They also have lots of great programs for kids.  This Thursday May 6 Check out KIDDIE CRAFT CLUB: METAMORPHOSIS from 10-11 and 2-3 Fun crafting for your 3-5 year old and parent.
